Q: Is there a way to make the parking lot outside Lot B safer for our Trinity Hall students in the morning?    Melanie Dreyer-Lude

A: Thanks so much for a question that has been asked by several parents, Melanie.  The traffic in Lot B as you turn off of Terrace Avenue is particularly heavy in the morning with cars and buses dropping off students.  Our youngest students from Trinity can seem most vulnerable to vehicles traveling too fast either entering or exiting the lot.  Executive Director Anne-Marie Balzano took this concern to Jeff Beeson, Director of Security for Carlow University.  He has agreed to have a crosswalk painted in Lot B, starting near the parking spaces with signs for “15 Minute - Trinity Hall Parking,”and extending to the sidewalk in front of Aidan Hall (next to Trinity Hall).  Dr. Balzano also requested a speed bump be placed in the lot shortly after pulling into the lower end of Terrace (closest to Trinity Hall).  This will serve as an extra reminder to all of us to drive slowly and be watchful of students as they rush to enter either Trinity or Tiernan.   The crosswalk and speedbump will be installed this Spring.
